Super Duplex Steel flanges primarily comprise about 24–26% chromium, 6–8% nickel, 3–5% molybdenum and nitrogen, manganese and trace elements enhancing corrosion resistance. Super Duplex Steel flanges have the benefits of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels and are stronger and tougher. They typically have a tensile strength of 700–800 MPa and yield strength of about 500–600 MPa Super Duplex flanges exhibit excellent resistance to pitting crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking and are best applied in severe conditions such as offshore chemical processing and high-pressure piping systems.
